If you drive mostly around Dublin, your car is doing the hardest kind of work: cold starts, short runs and constant stop-start traffic. The oil never gets fully up to temperature, moisture doesn't burn off, and the interval printed in your handbook — written for ideal European conditions — starts to look optimistic.
The short answer
Twelve months or 15,000 km for petrol, twelve months or 20,000 km for most modern diesels, and an annual check regardless of mileage for hybrids and EVs. Anything driven under 8,000 km a year still needs an annual oil and filter change — low mileage is not the same as low wear.
